Hey guys!
Jazz here. I wanted to put together a blog post about PrideSOS because it's much easier than a thread of tweets. It's a new(ish) year and a new tour is on the horizon – and so is a new PrideSOS Project!
But before I get into that, I just wanted to give a general update and explain why the project is unison this year.
We had an amazing 2018 with the Meet You There Tour. We had projects planned for every show date and so many of them turned out incredible! I am still blown away when I think about what we did. Unfortunately, during the end of that tour, I came home from my Meet You There shows having caught an awful bug. It affected my whole family and we were sick for weeks. But, as they got better, I did not.
The bug lasted for months and I was taken for tests. It turned out I had a lot of low levels and it meant I had to spend most of 2019 trying to recover. I had to have daily injections, take several medications and regular check-ups. As the levels rose once again, I was still not right. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in September and still under a health investigation. So, it means that I'm not as reliable as I once was and don't have the energy to work on several different projects. That's why this year, we're doing one big project in unison.
This year, we are hosting a PrideSOS Project for No Shame Tour during EASIER. The project is to hold up hearts of all different colours to create a rainbow sea. The hearts will have "Never gonna change" written on them as a symbol of how we as LGTBQIA+ people aren't going to change despite what society and queerphobics tell us and try to act against us, as well as to unite us as one.
You can download the template for the hearts here. You can print them on coloured paper or colour them in (just make sure the text is visible!) and cut them out.
In addition to this project, we are also creating safe space group chats where you can find others attending your show in our group chat and make friends, get excited for the show and just have fun.
Finally, we are continuing last year's fundraiser for OutRight International to this year! We will be relaunching our Etsy store with new and pre-existing designs and are looking for fan artists to collab with! You can email us pridesosproject@gmail.com if you're interested. We'll also be hosting raffles and other fundraising efforts throughout the year, so stay tuned!
We're so excited for 2020 and can't wait to see you guys participating in the project!
All the love,
Jazz x
